The Shanghai Art Theater is situated at 466 Jiangning road in Jingan district, near Kangding road and adjacent to the Jinan sport center. Gong Xueping, deputy secretary of municipal party committee of Shanghai, has inscribed the name of the theater – Art Ocean, implying that “artistic ocean is broad and profound”. The theater is a brand-new intellectualized and modernized artistic venue.

    The Shanghai Art Theater also has the function suitable for performance of ballet, local opera, modern drama, chamber music and variety show. In addition, the theater is equipped with ancillary facilities such as dining room, cafeteria and laundry room.
