Xin Lili was born in Shanghai in 1963. She is Grade I actor in China and Art Director of Shanghai Ballet Troupe, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Dancer Association. She was admitted in Ballet dance school of Shanghai in 1973 at 9 years old and graduated in 1980 with distinction and made it to Shanghai Ballet Company as main actor. Over 20 years, she performed many excellent dancing in an elegant way. Her repertoire includes:‘The death of swan’, which is vivid interpretation of a dying swan desperate for life. She starred successively in‘Swan Lake’,‘Giselle’,‘Don Quixote’,‘Romeo and Juliet’, and folk ballet‘White Haired Girl’,‘Thunder’,‘Song of youth’,‘soul’, etc. She successfully interpreted many different images and also was involved in directing‘Butterfly Love’. In 2001, she directed four acts of Butterfly Lovers.

　　Shanghai Spring saw Xin Lili’s transformation from actor to director in over a dozen of her participation. At 15, she was part of‘flowers to Hua Guofeng’, which is a meaningful start for her. In 13th Shanghai Spring, the audience was amazed by her‘Swan Lake’.
