Lu Pei: Doctor, composer, winner of many music awards both in home and abroad.

　　Lu Pei studied violin at low age. He graduated from Guangxi Art University in 1982, and then studied in Shanghai Conservatory of Music and worked there as a teacher later. From 1985, he taught in Composing Department in Shanghai Conservatory of Music, then went to USA for study in 1991. He studied in University of Louisville and graduated with Master of Music in 1995; studied in University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) in US for his doctorate degree (2002). He used to be Composing Professor in University of Louisville (2003-2006). During his service abroad, he was invited to China for lectures and academic exchanges. In September, 2006, he was retained as Composing Professor in Shanghai Conservatory of Music. In the 14th Shanghai Spring Festival in 1991, his piano music‘Overture of Symphony’was performed by Symphony Orchestra under conduction of Zhang Mei. It is the first close connection of Lu Pei with Shanghai Spring.

　　In Shanghai Spring Festival in 2008,‘The Chinese Zodiac Year Orchestral Series -2’was performed wonderfully on Shanghai Spring Festival together with his work‘String Music for Rooster Year’and‘Dance in Sky’; on the next day,‘Jumping Tiger’as‘The Chinese Zodiac Year Orchestral Series -3’was also a hit. In 2010,‘Greeting New Year of Golden Bull’as Series 4 was put on Shanghai Spring, conducted by Zhang Guoyong.
