Yu Lina is Chinese violinist, born in Shanghai and stemmed from Zhejing Province. He studied piano since she was child. In 1951, she was admitted to high school affiliated to Shanghai Conservatory of Music and study in Orchestral Instruments Department from Dou Lixun, Tan shuzhen and was selected to study in Foreign Expert Class. In 1959, her‘Butterfly Lovers Violin Concerto’was a hit in Taiwan. In 1993, she established Yu Lina Violin Art Fund, the first named after an artist in China to cultivate excellent violinist. She is Vice Chairman of Shanghai Musician Association, professor of Shanghai Conservatory of Music, part-time professor of Nanjing University, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Ningbo Economy Promotion Committee, president of Yu Lina Violin Art Fund now.

　　In 1959, she made her debut‘Butterfly Lovers Violin Concerto’at Shanghai Music and Dance Event (former of SSIMF), performed solo of violin when she was 18 years old and became famous. her‘Butterfly Lovers Violin Concerto’was made into disks of more than 1,000,000 which are of highest amount and greatest influence. She won her first golden record in China. She was the first performer of new works of many composers in China and made great contribution to research on performance styles of Chinese works.
