¡¡¡¡Xu Jingxin is a film composer born in Fengxian County, Shanghai. Influenced by his family, he was fascinated with music and expert at singing, performance and composing. At 17, he was admitted to Compositing Theory Department of Shanghai Conservatory of Music for systematic study. In 1966, he worked as composer in Shanghai Film Studio. In 1988, he served as President of Shanghai Film Orchestra and its Art Director. He is director of China Film Association, director of Shanghai Film Association, members of the Presidium, Vice Chairman of China Musician Association, Vice President of China Film Musician Association.

¡¡¡¡Over decades, he made film music for¡®Smile of the Sad¡¯and¡®Street¡¯and for over 150 TV shows. His works is melodious and upbeat, vivid and moving, rich in life and national style. Those melodies are expressive of theme and profound in depicting characters and highlighting the plot. In addition, he created ensemble of traditional instruments¡®Soaring¡¯and¡®Wind¡¯; piano concerto¡®River in Spring¡¯; vocal music caprice¡®Flower and Night in Spring¡¯and symphony¡®Blood Sacrifice¡¯.

¡¡¡¡His¡®Wind¡¯won Excellent Works Prize in 15th Shanghai Spring in 1991.In 1993, the festival saw his¡®Rainy Spring Night¡¯; In 21th Shanghai Spring in 2003, his¡®Soaring¡¯,¡®Dancing Music¡¯was part of¡®Melody of Chinese Music¡¯Concert, brought in new element of folk music and showed in Shanghai Theater. In 25th Shanghai Spring in 2008,¡®Shanghai Spring¡¯was put on in the festival.
