——Impression on Performance of French Toulouse State-owned String Orchestra

 

French Toulouse State-owned String Orchestra is praised as one of the best symphony bands of France. On the stage of “Shanghai Spring” the day before last, they proved their strength.

The arrangement of concert track took great pains. Firstly, The variation of a rose written by Deqing Wen, a Chinese music composer would be performed. The other two music works are also the classical works which loved by audience. “Shanghai Spring” attempted to invite excellent band from abroad to perform the domestic composer’s work and classical works of folk music from their countries on the same stage, which would be a big bright spot.  

In the first half part, Deqing Wen wrote The variation of a rose by material of Xinjiang folk song., organic fusion of folk song theme and modern technology. Skillfully combining the inward feeling and superb technique , this work like a Chinese ink painting, drawing elaborately and having endless aftertaste.  What make people a little regret is the opening music, the band are not in the good state and timbre changesof elegant string music had not be well showed. The following Cello Concerto in B minor of Dvo?ák was performed by Russian cellist Tatjana Vassiljeva. The timbre changed frequently and vibrato is natural and full of sense of music, untrammeled and not having extra emotion, which showed the master manner.    　

The biggest surprise of the whole performance is the conductor. Tugan Sokhiev, who scheduled to conduct in this performance cannot come to China for some reasons. The Mexican-American female conductor Alondra de la Parra who was born after 1980, went on stage as a last-minute understudy. Her wonderful performance brought audience extraordinary surprise, happiness and impulse.

Alondra de la Parra is praised as the one who have most anima among young generation. Her graceful posture has infinite strength.  By woman’s sensitive and painstaking, her abundant and atmospheric conduct action gave audience not only have a music feast, but also obtain extra visual enjoyment. Especially in the second half part, when she conducted Arabian nights , the classic work of  Korsakov, under the control of good sense of music with youth’s elegance , this music full of exotic color was performed extremely wonderfully. The whole “breath” of the conductor seemed integrated with music into a whole mass. Each scene opened out under the control of magic baton, colorful and passionate. The band performed ordinarily in the first half part become ecstasy gradually under her lead. Although individual mistakes because of out of form of chief, the whole brilliant performance of the band cannot be weakened. |The performance of the music pulsation of the entire music structure and the intrinsic tension fluctuation is intricately consistent and full of lingering charm. . The wooden pipe brought melody like the sound from nature from time to time. And when the horn came out, its wonderful sound made audience stunned. When the band played the last movement, its performance showed the gas potential of tempest, which made audience on site feel fascinated. It can be said that in the “Conduct” field which male is absolutely dominated, this “Woman magician “ ‘s performance completely change people’s  prejudice.
