The day before yesterday evening at eight, they just finished farming from fields, coming home with muddy legs. Yesterday afternoon, the 45 farmers rode into Kunming and arrived in Shanghai at night.

With shocking voice parts of polyphony and Harmony, Yunnan xiaoshuijing Miao choir today will bring their unique skills into Shanghai Conservatory of Music for communication. Tomorrow night, they will debut in "Chinese Memory·Yunnan wonderful soundtrack Concert"held by "Shanghai Spring” International Music Festival in Shanghai. 45 singers dressed in homespun and sandals made by them will perform songs of Handel and Schumann, and this will be the simplest show of the festival - no choreography, no special lighting. 

"The xiaoshuijing village, just 30 km away from Kunming, became famous in the last CCTV Young Singer Competition. With the  choral tradition along the past centuries,farmer choir that composed of farmers ranged from 13 to 40 years old can was able to show polyphony which even the most wonderful harmony and professional choirs are difficult to perform while no one can read music in the village of only 100 families", Kunming Municipal Party Committee Propaganda Department creative team official Jiang Mingchu said,"  German President was amazed that there is a lot of similarity between Germany,American bel canto and their voice when hearing them singing , and the judges of Young Singer Competition eventually gave them more scores over a number of well-known professional choir. "

With average income less than 1000 yuan per year in xiaoshuijing village which is notoriously poor, those 45 singers who has sung wonderful songs that astonish the world are still working hard in the field. According to researches, the songs they sing,as a strange branch of orginal ecology in Yunnan,unexpectedly keep western choir tradition a century ago, and it is still a mystery that how to retain complete polyphony songs and singing style, with no score,no accompaniment and no documented case. The most impressive, the villagers are unmoved by the potential benefits when Kunming government classified xiaoshuijing village as tourist destination, with open doors at night and quiet life there, and 40-year-old villagers retire while 13-years-old children are promoted into choir ......The choir was supposed to come to Shanghai by train, and Kunming government sponsored 900,000 yuan so that farmer singers can avoid the pain of a full day's journey. Tomorrow night, they will sing some art songs and gospel songs of Handel and Schumann in the second half concert, and show Miao songs "Long Street Banquet" and "To the Kingdom." In the first half of the concert, the singers such as Li Huaixiu, Li Huaifu, Da Po Ma Ji, and little A Peng who won "original" award in CCTV "National Young Singers' Competition" will perform respectively on the stage. "Expect for the voluntary accompaniment of the piano master from Central Conservatory of Music, singers are performing and singing all by themselves with no other accompaniment."
