　 Chinese orchestra concert "Splendid China - Fond Memories of the South"is co-sponsored by Jiangsu Provincial MusiciansAssociation, Zhejiang MusiciansAssociation, Anhui MusiciansAssociation, Shanghai MusiciansAssociation, Shanghai Chinese Orchestra, and Arts Promotion Center of Shanghai Federation of Literary and Art Circles.

　　The concert will inherit the concert brandof last year "Splendid China - Flavors of Northwest", focuson the three provinces and one city in the Yangtze River Deltaregion, and rootin profound culture of Chinese traditional music in the southern area, promote new performers and compositions. Outstanding Chinese traditional musicians from Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui Provinces will be invited to perform on the same stage with the performers fromShanghai Chinese Orchestra.

　　The concert will begin with the ancient song "Riverside Flowers in Spring Night", introducingthe aura of traditional Jiangnan area. Original compositionsfollowed centeron the theme of Jiangnan,and display different cultural temperaments and spiritual connotations of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai and Anhuiwith different music styles. The poetic West Lake of Zhejiang, the magnificent Huangshan Mountain of Anhui, and the pleasant gardens of Jiangsu will be depicted by Flute, Xiao, Guzheng, Pipa, Erhu respectively together with Chinese Orchestra. In the end, some parts of "Shanghai Legend - Storyof the Bund" created by German composer Christian Jost committedby Shanghai Chinese Orchestra will be performed to show the modern spirit of Shanghai in the eyes of the foreign composer.

　 　Chief of Pipa Vocal Department of Shanghai Chinese Orchestra, Mational Grade-I Player, Vice President of Shanghai Pipa Association as well as Vice President of Chinese Pipa Society.

　　At the age of 12, he started learning Pipa from Mr. Sun Yude. In 1978, he was admitted to Shanghai Chinese Orchestra, and guided carefully by many famous pipa masters. He wonnumerous awards in national and international music competitions, acted as Pipa soloist, leader cooperator of performance, etc. in a series of domestic and foreign performances. He recorded many solo columns and numerous film,and television works, audio and video works. After nearly 40 years of cultivation, his pipa art has been mature gradually, with striking personalstyle. He has visited dozens of countries and regions all over the world. He has been invited by various domestic and foreign events with the Orchestra, performing for numerous visiting foreign heads of the state and government, obtaining many good reputations and praises. Tone played by Zhou Tao is as beautiful as jade beads. He is skilled comprehensively, with steady and beautiful temperament, especially in terms of performance of classic programs.He is of great momentum, with emphasis in charmof the program and unique accomplishment.

　　Fang Yu

　　Zitherand old lute performer of Shanghai Chinese Orchestra, National Class-II Actor, Chinese Zither Instructor of Shanghai Normal University Music College, Director of Chinese Zither Professional Commission of Shanghai Musicians Association and member of Chinese Zither Professional Commission of Shanghai Musicians Association. In 2015, he ranked the first in Award of NewArtist in the 32ndSSIMF. His performance was elegant and liberal, with profound connotation, high performance tension and unique music insights. He isoften invited by various first-class orchestras for performance, and has visited many regions such as Asia, America, Europe, Austria and Latin America,etc. He has been invited to perform in a series of important tasks in the form of solo and Seventh FairyGroup, such as the reception of heads of countries, World Expo, Greeting People in ShanghaiforSpring Festival, Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia and Bobo Forum for Asia, and won highly praise. He has released many albums,such as Beijing Storyand Fairy Walking over Ripples.

　　Chen Yunying

　 　Youth bamboo flute performer of Shanghai Chinese Orchestra, Chief and Assistant President of Chinese Bamboo Flute Orchestra, and member of Bamboo Flute Professional Commission of China Nationalities Orchestra Society. He won six international and domestic gold prizes, such as the highest cultural and artistic government prize of Ministry of Culture, CCTV Competition Prize, Hong Kong Culture Art Prize and Jiangnan Competition Prize for Traditional Stringed and Woodwind Instruments etc. and more than ten other special prizesand first prizes,and Outstanding Talent Prize,etc. He has recorded model course and many albums of bamboo flute, cooperatedwith domestic and foreign famous philharmonic societies, conductor, premiered works of many domestic and foreign composers worldwide, and held recitals in Beijing, Shanghai and other places for many times. He visited more than ten countries and regionsfor national missions, such as England, America, France, Germany and Austria etc. and interviewed with ambassadors, counselor and foreign senior officers for many times. He has visited domestic and foreign concert halls, andwon praiseand highly appraisal. After joining Shanghai Chinese Orchestra, he has acted as soloistin many major performances, and is a rising new star of folk music.

　　Li Shengnan

　 　Li Shengnanis a Pipa performer of Shanghai Chinese Orchestra, with exquisite skills and abundant stage experience. She has a good manipulationover works of various styles. In recent years, she has held more than ten solo, ensemble and concerto concerts successfully in New York, Beijing, Hangzhou, Wuhan, Xiamen, Yinchuan and Shanxi Province etc., especially special performance for traditional music, special concert for quartet and Pipa was praised by industry experts no matter in form, music selection and playing. Many musical works premiered, such as Early Spring, Silence, Mid-Lake Pavilion, Waterfall and Epic of Jangar,etc. have been spread most widely and re-performed most frequently now.

　　Zhang Yu

　　He is a young Chinese Zither performer and professional Zither tutor of Department of Music, Anhui Professional College of Art. He is also Director and Researcher of Baixi Chinese ZitherArt Research Centre.

　　During study in school, he was taught by Professor Wang Wei, a famous Chinese Zither performer, and Professor Dai Xiaolian, a modern piano expert of Guangling School and Director of Chinese Qin Association. He learned conducting from Professor Zhou Xiaoping, a national first-class conductor and Vice President of Anhui Art Research Institute.

　　He has won many awards,such as Excellent Teacher Award of National Chinese ZitherCompetition in SSIMF, the first prize of Chamber Music Competition in First China National Chamber Music Festival, and Excellent Teacher Award of International Chinese Zither Competition in South China Division. In 2016, he held two individual zither (Guzhen) concerts in Shanghai Conservatory of Music, held large-scale individual zither concerts in Hefei in 2013, 2014 and 2017 respectively,and performed "Kikujiro","Spring","Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence"(arranged by him) and his original repertoire "Jianghu".

　　Gu Huiyan

　 　Graduated from Shanghai Conservatory of Musicwith majorof Erhu Performing and Teaching Master Major, she is a professional teacher of Erhu in Department of Music, Nanjing University of the Arts now, Director of Jiangsu Branch of Erhu Society, Chinese Musicians Association, and Director of Erhu Committee of China Nationalities Orchestra Society. She has learned Erhu from Professor Ma Youde, Professor Ou Jingxing and Professor Wang Yongde. He has won Golden Award for Instrumental Performance in the 4th Jiangsu Music and Dance Festival, the Golden Award for the 2nd“Jasmine” in Jiangsu Province, and Golden Award for Folk Music Group in the 9th Chinese Golden Bell Award for Music. In 2017, the Huqin Chamber Music Group “String in Burning” and folk music group “Heaven String” set up and directed by her won “Culture Award” in the 6th National Youth Folk Music Instrument Show successively.

　　From 2008 to 2012, Gu Huaiyan was employed by Singapore Chinese Orchestra as an Erhu performer. She has visited more than a dozen countries in Asia, Africa and Europe for performance, and recorded “Splendid Chinese Music” on CCTV, and held several recitals. She has cooperated with orchestras such as Singapore Chinese Orchestra, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, National Orchestra of Shanghai Conservatory of Music, Zhejiang National Orchestra, Jiangsu Symphony Orchestra, Jiangsu National Orchestra, etc. Her premiers of Erhu performances in China include Riding Alone for Thousands of Miles, Red Maples in the Autumn Ridge, Fantasy Ballade, Peacocks Fly To the Southeast(folk music version), Rhapsody in Blue, etc. Many Erhu tunes and Erhu duets adapted by Gu Huaiyan have also been performed in public many times and won highly appraisal.

　　Zhao Qi

　　Zhao Qi is a teacher of Bamboo Flute Majorin Department of National Music, Zhejiang Conservatory of Music, and Deputy Director of Art Practice Teaching and Research Office. He was taught by famous flute performers and educators successively,such as Jiang Guoji, Deng Shihui, Yu Xunfa, Zhang Yu and Zhan Yongming. Graduated from Shanghai Conservatory of Music as Master from Bamboo Flute Art, Zhao Qi is Director of Bamboo Flute Society of China Musicians Association, Deputy Secretary-General of Paixiao Art Research Association, Director of Zhejiang National Orchestra Society, VicePresident of Hangzhou Paixiao Art Research Association, and worked in Shanghai National Orchestra from 2004 to 2015. He has won many awardsin national competition, such as Silver Prize of Bamboo Flute Youth Professional Group of First Chinese National Musical Instrument Solo Competition in 2002 held by the Ministry of Culture, the First Prize of Bamboo Flute Youth Professional Group of First International Invitation for Chinese National Musical Instrument Competition, etc. He has recorded albums with famous musicians,such as American jazz pianist Bobo Jims, French jazz band FRANCOIS RAULIN and released them at home and abroad. He has held a number of special concerts and lectures on flute successfully, invited to visit more than 20 countries in Europe, Asia and Africa.His personal stories have been included in List of Celebrity in Yuezhong.
