SSO in Chamber 8: Impression Piano Trio Performs Tchaikovsky and Dvor¨¢k

¡¡¡¡This concert consists of two grandiosemasterpieces of nineteenth-century Slavic chamber music, performedby three musicians from ImpressionPiano Trio of SSO, including Huang Na, Chen Shaojun and Xue Yingjia. Dvorak's Piano Quintet is a perfect mixture of Czech folk dance, German classical form, and personal lyricism of composer. Tchaikovsky's PianoTrio is his only chamber piece performedwith piano, written in memory of his passed friend, the pianist Nicolai Rubinstein. It features a highly unusual two-movement design and deep emotional expression.

¡¡¡¡Huang Na, Violinist

¡¡¡¡She learned violin at 8, studied in Middle School Attached to Wuhan Conservatory of Music, and won Second Prize in Junior Group of First Violin Competition. Later, she was enrolled by Shanghai Conservatory of Music ("SCM), tutored by Professor He Xian. During her study in SCM, she was invited by Austria Salzburg Conservatory of Music as exchange scholar in 2004, and won full scholarship of Montclair State University, USA simultaneously. In 2005, She studied further in USA with Jiang Yiwen of Shanghai Quartet, majoring in chamber music and acting as Chief of the orchestra, won diploma of artist.

¡¡¡¡During her study in USA, she won fullscholarship of Manchester Music Festival, Hamden-Sydney Music Festival, Tanglewood Music Festival. From 2006 to 2009, she was violist of Pennsylvania Philharmonic Orchestra and the Albany Symphony Orchestra.

¡¡¡¡Huang NanjoinedtheShanghaiSymphonyOrchestrainSeptember2009 and acted as Chief Violist. She is a nactive chamber musician, established Impressing Piano Trio,East Coast String Quartet,cooperated with renowned Berlin Philharmonic Brass Quintet, etc.

¡¡¡¡Chen Shaojun, Cellist

    Chen Shaojun was born in Shanghai. Heg raduated from Shanghai Conservatory of Music and the Basel Academy of Music in Switzerland. He has studied under Lin Yingrong, Qin Liwei and Walter Levin, Professor Reiner Schmidt. He has won many awards, including the 4th awards in the "Almaty" International String Competition in Kazakhstan in 2011 and Copper Prize in "GoldenBellAward" Chinese Music Competition,etc. In 2004, he established and joined Shanghai Harmony Quartet, and has long been instructed by Prof. Shen Xidi, Prof Lan Hancheng, Shanghai Quartet, the Tokyo Quartet and the Giulia Quartet. In 2006, he was selected by Chamber Musician Walter Levin and received a scholarship to pursue a master's degree in chamber music at the Basel Academy of Music following Walter Levin and Professor Reiner Schmidt. He has performed through out Europe. He was invited to The 11th Miyazaki Music Festival, the German Konstanz Recital Week, Switzerland Boswil, Luzern Replay Week, and received high praise. In 2009, he entered Shanghai Symphony Orchestra and participated in nearly 100 performances each year with orchestra,chamber music and soloists.

¡¡¡¡Xue Yingjia, Pianoist

    Xue Ying jia is one of the most versatile pianists in China today. He won first prize in 2004 Paris Scriab in International Piano Competition. Inaddition, Xue has won numerous awards in various competitions. In 2003, he won second prize in international piano competition of dumotier, Belgium; In July of the same year, he won the prize of excellence in Italian Rachmaninoff International Piano Competition. In 2005, he won the only prize in YAMAHAI nternational Piano Competition in Belgium.

    He also earned highly reputation for touring in Europe and the United States. He has held piano recitals and chamber music concerts incities of Belgium, France, Italy, Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Canada and other countries, and was invited to perform in many famous international music festivals.

¡¡¡¡He was also invited to the concert with Belgium Tournai Symphony Orchestra, Paris Chamber Orchestra, Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, Shanghai Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, Suzhou, Xiamen Philharmonic Orchestraetc. He has worked with many conductors, such as Conrad Van Alphen,Christian Ehwald, Philippe Gerard, Victor Hugo Toro, series, Hu Yongyan, Tan Lihua, Zhangliang, etc. In 2009 and 2010, he was invited to hold piano recitals in Milanand Turin to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Haydn's death and the 200th anniversary of Chopin's birth. After returning to China, he performed in all the major theaters in China.

¡¡¡¡In 2006, Xue Yingjia was invited by noted Japan's national broadcaster, NHK, to record a series of NHK master lessons with French pianist Michel Dalberto, which were broad casted nationwide and released on DVD.

¡¡¡¡Xue Yingjia is teacher at Shanghai Conservatory of Music and Xiamen Branch of Central Conservatory of Music. She has studied at Middle School Attached to Shanghai Conservatory of Music and Shanghai Conservatory of Music. From 2005 to 2009, she studied in Italy Imola International Piano Academy honored as "Templeof Pianist", tutored by French pianist Michel Dalberto,Canadian Musician Louis Lortie and Russian pianist Boris Petrushansky.
