　　Art songs have long been regarded as a model for the perfect combination of literature and music. Whether it is the Guqin song in traditional literature or the romantic and classical Lied, the voice and words in the music not only reveal the ingenuity of the composer, but also represent a further sublimation of the charm of language.

　　Shanghai Conservatory of Music enjoys a fine tradition of art songs, which begins with Mr. Huang Tzu and Mr. Xiao Youmei, and is an important part of Shanghai culture and even Chinese music. To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the SHCM will hold a wonderful art song concert.
