　　The Concert will perform thesymphony "The Silk Road Suite" composed by famous Russian composer BreaskViktor Vasilyevich (ПлешкаВикторВасильевич). The ancient Silk Road is the most dazzling stage to blend civilizationsin historyof humanbeings. It has coagulatedthe evolution of economy, politics, culture and society in Eurasiafor a long period ofhistory. Dunhuang, like a bright pearl embedded on the ancient Silk Road, has witnessed the exchange and blending of East and West civilizations."The Silk Road Suite" interprets culture of Silk Road and Dunhuang with international universal musical language. The purpose of this work is to strengthen cultural self-confidence,represent ‘Chinese elements’with global universal language, and realize the communication,blending and mutual learningof East and West cultures. It is another new approach for the world to know the Dunhuang and Chinese culture, so as to enhance international influence of Chinese culture. The work isselected for communicationand exchange in 2019 by National Art Fund.

　　First Movement："Pilgrimage to Dunhuang"

　　Dunhuangis bright pearl of Silk Road and holy land of human art. Accompanied by the joyful and exciting melody, we approach Dunhuang. Under repeated enlightenment of the band, the erhu, the piano and the violin sound successively, and interpretsame theme in respective ways. Splendid music conveys solemn message and narrates the story of Silk Road for thousands of years. The story is long and lasting. People gather here from all over the wordto make great prosperity.

　　Second Movement:"Blessing Oasis"

　　Oasis is life of the desert. The camel bells come gently and people walk into the oasis. The birds are chirping, the water is flowing, the grass and trees are lush, flowers are blooming, and flocks and herds are roamingamong them. The oasis,just like a bright pearl, connects Silk Roadand endows it with life for thousandsof years.

　　Third Movement:"Mogao Sacrament"

　　Solemn and lofty music is the worship to Mogao art, the worship toexchangeof civilization, and theworship toChinese civilization with historyof 5,000 years.

　　Fourth Movement:"Temple of Art"

　　Display the diversity of Mogao Grottoes murals in figurative expression technique of music, and enable audiencesto feel the rich and colorful Dunhuang murals in melodies, and represent the elegant flying Apsaras, graceful musical dance along Silk Road and profound Buddhist culture scenes vividly before audiences.

　　Fifth Movement:"Love Song of Silk Road"

　　The movement transforms Dunhuang into an innocent girl. The girls are busy with silk weavingthere, innocent, kind,full of fineexpectations. A beautiful girl sings a nostalgia song, overflowing with deep miss to herlover who is traveling to distant horizon with trade caravan along Silk Road...

　　Sixth Movement:"Echo of Ancient Road"

　　The movement regenerates the image of ancient Silk Roadfar and afar away. In the desolate and distant music, there are the camel bells of marching trade caravans and the whinny of horses, as well as dramatic and horriblescenes of bandits… The music makes audiencesexperience the hardship of merchants and envoys of friendship walking along the ancientroad.

　　Seventh Movement:"Silk Roadon Sea"

　　The trip of modern Silk Road on Sea is a thrilling adventureundoubtedly. The sea is endless and the weather is treacherous. Astorm may probably occurs in the next second... At the same time, the movement displays the life of peopleon sea vividly.

　　Eighth Movement:"Force and Speed"

　　The movement is threaded by a series of music with different styles from countries along Silk Road (including Central Asia, Kazakhstan, Russia, China, Germany, Italy), implying that Silk Road connects Europe and Asia and spreads friendship all over the world.

　　Ninth Movement:"Long Live,Peace"

　　The movement is the climax and core movement of the suite, using a technique of aggregating and penetratingimportant themes. Led by piano,melody of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 "Ode to Joy"sounds,and echoes with the melodies with rich flavors of Silk Road.The sound of aria is loud and sweet, while melody of the erhu and pipa is rapid and energetic. The familiar melody of First Movementsounds again, and the music reaches its climax. Music expresses the belief that Silk Road is the road of peace and hope, calling on people to build community of human destiny jointly in the name of culture, peace and kindness.

　　Lanzhou Symphony Orchestra

　　Lanzhou Symphony Orchestra is one of outstanding orchestras in China. It has cooperated closely with famous conductors,such as Yu Feng, Zhang Yi, Zheng Xiaoying, Zhang Guoyong, LvJia, Li Xincao, Yu long, Zhu Man and so on. The orchestra performed at famous venues,such as Vienna Golden Hall, Sydney Opera House, Beijing Concert Hall, National Grand Theater, Shanghai Concert Hall, etc. It was invited to performin in Italian Mediterranean Music Festival, cooperatedwith Italian performing artists to perform opera "Bohemian" for more than 7000 audiencesat the ancient Greek theatre in Tolmina, Italy. From 2017 to 2018, the opera "Turandot" and "Carmen" were rehearsed at Lanzhou Concert Hall. The orchestra has formed its unique artistic style in long-term performance, and won favor of audiences.

　　Li Dan, Soprano

　　She graduated from Department of Vocal Music in Sichuan Conservatory of Music, and studied under the tenor singer Tan Xuesheng.

　　In June, 2017, Li Dan won Second Prize of National Singing in 11th China Music "Golden Bell Award", and won First Prize of National Vocal MusicofGroup A in Gansu Division in 4th Hong Kong International Music Festival in the same month.In June 2017, she won First Prize of Vocal Music in the 13th 'Youth China' Gansu Province Talent Competition. In September 2018, she was invited to sing in "2018 Chinese Festival", a large-scale Sino-Japanese exchange event. In September 2018, she sang in the symphony "Silk Roadand Dunhuang"composed by Russian composer Bresac Victor Vasiyevichin Foreignand ChineseArt Gala "Date with Dunhuang 2018".

　　Zhang Bin, Violinist

　　Zhang Binstudied violin at an early age, tutoredby Zhou Guoguang. In 1998, he was admitted to Lanzhou Symphony Orchestra as performer. In 1999, he won First Prize in Lanzhou Youth Performance Competition. In 2008, he participated in Gansu Provincial Instrumental Music Competition and won First Prize of Youth Group. In 2012, he acted as Chief of the Orchestra.Zhang Bin has accumulated rich experience, and won acknowledgement and highly appraisalby professionals worldwide.
